Purpose of SM01:
Lock/Unlock Transactions: This transaction is primarily used by system administrators to lock or unlock transaction codes in SAP. Locking a transaction code means that users will not be able to execute that specific transaction. Unlocking it allows users to access and use the transaction.
Security and Control: It’s often used for maintenance, troubleshooting, or to prevent users from executing certain transactions during specific times (e.g., during system upgrades, testing, or when a particular TCode should not be used temporarily).
Steps to Use SM01:
Enter Transaction Code SM01 in the command field and press Enter.
In the Transaction Codes screen, you can:
Select a transaction code from the list.
Lock the transaction by marking it (this prevents users from accessing it).
Unlock the transaction to allow access again.
You can also filter transactions by criteria, such as user group or authorization, to apply changes to specific sets of transactions.
